Weaving 201 with Lucy Poskitt June 15 6pm to 9pm
This Intermediate class is for those of you that are ready to take your weaving further and get a bit more figurative or complex with your designs. You may have taken a previous Weaving 101 class with Lucy (or someone else), OR already know the basics of weaving and have your own loom.
In this 3-hour class we'll cover other ways of creating texture and pattern, how to create shapes like perfect circles, how to blend colours, how to design and plan out your weavings... and more. You'll come away with a new yarn pack, a couple new tools and a step-by-step booklet of all the techniques we covered in class.
Newer weavers of ALL levels take this workshop - please don't feel like you're not advanced enough to take this class! There is often lots of time for me to answer questions you have about techniques you learned in 101 or have seen elsewhere. :)
Prerequisite: You should be comfortable with setting up and taking your weaving off the loom, plain weave, and finishing your ends. Please come to class with a warped loom, a needle or two, comb, scissors and shed stick. (If you don't use a shed stick I'll have some on hand and we'll cover how to use it in class.)
Please note that workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable to another date.
